Adam Curry

As an on-air personality, Adam is best known for his work as a host VJ, producer, director and writer at the MTV network from 1987 to 1993. While working his “day job” at MTV, Adam was instrumental in bringing the global network into the digital age by registering and building mtv.com while MTV focused on less progressive systems like AOL.

After observing stagnant development and precarious centralization of podcasting for over a decade, Adam concepted Podcasting 2.0 in August 2020 with the dual mission of ‘preserving podcasting as a platform for free speech’ and ‘re-tooling podcasting as a platform for the entire ecosystem’.

In September 2020, Adam, together with Dave Jones, developed and launched Podcastindex.org. This new initiative has now been quickly established as the nucleus of a movement involving podcast app developers, hosting companies and content producers, who all utilize the PodcastIndex new features and Value 4 Value streaming payments system that enables content producers to be free from commercial technology companies and global banking systems.
