Aloha! Never in a trillion years did I think I would make this video. If Fast Eddie, my Dad, could have bet twenty-one million Bitcoin that I would never sit here wearing a cross and talking about Jesus, he would have taken that bet. I would have put money on it too.

What happened in my journey from New Age to Jesus?
I was finishing a book, an app, and a curriculum. Life looked like it was working. I was not hunting a new religion. I was just walking downstairs for coffee.
I started playing Exorcist-approved Gregorian chants while praying for a neighbor who was constantly sick. Within 24 hours, in my living room, an overwhelming yet feather-light voice I believe was the Holy Spirit said, “It is time, Valerie, it is time.” I said, "Time for what?"
Then the instruction got practical. Go get a cross. Throw the rest out. I went to TJ Maxx, bought a $20 sparkly cross, and cleared the house. Oracle decks. Goddess cards. A little wand with chakra crystals. Buddha statues. Psychedelic tapestries. I asked if I was being pranked. The gentle voice reassured me. Let Jesus come in. Let the Holy Spirit fill you up.
I guess I was the one who was spiritually sick.
Why I had thrown the baby Jesus out with the bathwater
Televangelists asking little old ladies for $100. Sexual abuse in institutions. White-robed fear. I wanted GOD, and I wanted LOVE, but the package looked legalistic, manipulative, and cruel.
So I built a politically correct counterfeit. Peer to peer with “GOD.” No Bible. No Jesus as GOD in man’s form, come down for us, crucified, risen. I apologize. I repent. I dismissed people in my life who wanted Jesus, and my ignorant, arrogant self thought I was doing them a favor.
What did the name of Jesus break when nothing else could?
This was before the cross on the wall. Before this video. I had a whole lineup I prayed with: archangels, Guru Nanak, Mother Mary, Jesus as one more “guide,” plus two blue-headed beings I nicknamed Bob and Chuck from an ibogaine vision. GOD saved my life. Ibogaine was a tool in a desperate season. I do not sell or promote the medicine.
One night, a black demonic thing hung over my bed. I started calling on all those guides. “Get away. Get away.” None of it moved the black thing. Then I said, "In the name of Jesus, get out." The black thing—a demon—got scared and disappeared. I still did not convert. I just thought, "Cool, Jesus is a demon slayer." The name stuck anyway.
That is why I now tell spiritual seekers the truth. There is no middle path. There is GOD and there is Satan. A “neutral” lane is deception. We are in a spiritual war, 24-7.
Why will people not die for a lie?
I was arrogant. I turned my nose up as a kid and kept it up for decades. If it were a scam, would you let someone cut off your head before you renounced Him?
I finally gave the Bible a chance. I have read the New Testament. I am on a second pass, and I am working through the Old. I am not a scholar. I am a newly minted Disciple of Jesus. I have sat in Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestant churches. I trust GOD more than the institutions of man. I still know this: Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
How did I open doors I had to shut?
Yoga as worship. New Thought. The Secret. Law of attraction. Sex magic. Psychedelics. Hypnotherapy with people misaligned with the spirit world. A homemade goddess identity. Panentheism. You are GOD. The universe. The field. Manifest it.
You did not make the molecules in the mug. You did not design the human body. You did not hang the sun. GOD did. Only GOD. The looping torment, the “you are not enough” tape, the dread, that is not “just my personality.” Demons implant images when we give permission. Psychic mediums are not chatting with Aunt Linda. Newsflash: Dead people do not talk to the living. Fallen angels have been on duty a long time.
I have renounced it. I still practice repentance, forgiveness, and turning it over every day. Humble. Obedient. Your will, GOD, not mine.
Why does GOD give rules?
A dad does not want his fifteen-year-old daughter out at 2 AM. He knows what happens at 2 AM. The curfew is not him hating joy.
GOD made the chessboard. He knows how Satan works. Obedience is covering. Cotton-candy spirituality made me feel good and left me in charge. Vainglory wants human approval. I want to be a GOD-pleaser.
I used to flinch at the word sinner. I told myself my intentions were good. That was pride. GOD still wants me. The prodigal still gets welcomed home. He was faithful when I was on the bathroom floor with snot fangs, ready to jump off the planet. I took control of things that were never mine. He never left.

This is not Jesus glued onto the old path. I reworked the curriculum through truth and humility. DJ still means Divine Journey. Now it also means "Disciple of Jesus."
