- From Wall Street to Spiritual Sovereignty: Conscious Money with Holly Berkley
Why Bitcoin is the "Missing Puzzle Piece" for the Global Shift in Consciousness What happens when a Wall Street trader and tech strategist has a spiritual awakening that shatters her reality? She finds Bitcoin. In this soul-expanding episode, I sit down with my dear friend Holly Berkley —a true "Renaissance Woman" who has traversed the worlds of high finance, Silicon Valley tech, and holistic healing. We discuss her journey from managing $500 million trades to healing subconscious trauma, and why she believes Bitcoin is actually "Energy Money" designed for the new Earth. 🎬 Watch the Full Episode 🎧 Listen to the Podcast ✨ Key Takeaways 1. Bitcoin is "Energy Money" for a New Earth Holly explains that Bitcoin aligns perfectly with the values of the shifting global consciousness: decentralization, sovereignty, truth, and transparency. It is a neutral, global money that enables cooperation rather than control. 2. "Red Carpeting": The Art of Following Intuition "When we follow those little intuitive hits... synchronicities happen. I call it 'Red Carpeting' where the red carpet just gets rolled out because yes, you're supposed to go in that direction." — Holly Berkley 3. Success Through Subtraction (Clearing the "Schmutz") You don't need to add more rituals to fix yourself. You need to subtract the trauma, conditioning, and limiting beliefs (the "Schmutz") that are covering your light. Once cleared, your natural brilliance shines through automatically. 4. Be a Lighthouse, Not a Tugboat Lighthouses don't run around the island looking for ships to save. They stand firm, grounded, and shine their light. If someone needs it, they will see it. This is how we should operate in times of chaos—stay grounded in your signal, ignore the noise. 5. Collaborative Custody Eliminates Anxiety Holly details her work with The Bitcoin Adviser . By using a 2-of-3 key setup (where you hold a key, they hold a key, and a third party holds a key), you remove the "single point of failure." You maintain total control, but you have a safety net so you can sleep at night. 6. Rejection is God's Protection and Redirection When things don't go your way (like a house falling through or a relationship ending), it’s often the Universe saving you from a mistake. Trust the mantra: "This, or something better." Episode Overview In this conversation, Holly shares her fascinating arc from a classical ballet dancer to a Wall Street trader, and eventually to a holistic health practitioner with over 35 years of experience. She reveals the "Red Pill" moment in 1991 that woke her up from the corporate matrix and how listening to Michael Saylor and Ross Stevens in 2021 finally clicked the Bitcoin piece into place. We explore the deep connection between Bitcoin and spirituality, discussing how sound money acts as a base layer for truth, transparency, and peace. Holly explains her work with The Bitcoin Adviser, helping people secure their wealth without anxiety, and introduces a new way to tap into home equity with Bitcoin. But this isn't just about money—it's about vibration. We talk about the "Telepathy Tapes," the shift from fear-based timelines to the "Love Train," and how to be a "Lighthouse" in turbulent times (hint: lighthouses don't run around looking for ships to save!). About Holly Berkley Holly Berkley is a Advisor at The Bitcoin Adviser, where she helps individuals secure their Bitcoin through multi-sig collaborative custody. With a background that includes trading fixed income arbitrage on Wall Street, opening the Manhattan office for Sun Microsystems, and serving as Director of Technology Strategy for American Express, Holly bridges the worlds of legacy finance and future tech. She is also a holistic health practitioner with 35 years of experience in energy medicine, helping clients clear subconscious blocks to align with their soul's destiny. She describes herself as a "Bridge Brain," connecting the logical/linear with the intuitive/spiritual. What is "Collaborative Custody" and why is it safer? It is a security model for Bitcoin where multiple keys are required to move funds (Multi-Sig). Unlike an exchange (where they hold your coins) or a single hardware wallet (where you might lose the seed phrase), collaborative custody distributes the risk. You hold a key, a partner holds a key, and a recovery service holds a key. As Holly explains, this removes the "single point of failure" and the anxiety of losing everything. 2. What does "Success Through Subtraction" mean? We often think we need to add more rituals, habits, or strategies to become better people. Holly flips this script. She believes our light is already there—it’s just covered by "Schmutz" (trauma, conditioning, and limiting beliefs). Healing isn't about adding; it's about subtracting the layers that block your natural brilliance. Once cleared, the light shines automatically. 3. How can I tell the difference between fear and intuition? Intuition often comes as a subtle "nudge" or a physical sensation of a clear "Yes" or "No." Fear is loud and chaotic; intuition is quiet and steady. Holly calls it "Red Carpeting"—when you act on a true intuitive hit, the Universe rolls out the red carpet, and synchronicities start happening (like her finding the perfect house with 7 mermaids!). 4. How do I stay grounded when the world feels chaotic? Holly suggests the "Bird on the Branch" perspective. Instead of getting down in the mud and engaging with the drama, you observe it from a higher vantage point. She shares a powerful metaphor about being a Lighthouse: "Lighthouses don't run around the island looking for ships to save... they just stand there and put the light out." — Holly Berkley. Your job is simply to stand firm and shine your light. If someone needs it, they will see it. 5. What is the "Love Train" vs. "Fear Train"? There are two diverging timelines happening right now. The Fear Train is fueled by mainstream media, division, and crumbling old systems. The Love Train is fueled by joy, sovereignty, and connection. We have to consciously choose which train we are boarding every single day. You can't be on both at the same time. 🩷 Subscribe + Join the LOVE Tribe Subscribe to 11x LOVE Notes — New episodes and sticky notes for your soul 🔥 Ready to Transform Your Life? Lyons Concept: The Telepathy Tapes (Non-local consciousness) 📜 Full Episode Transcript DJ Valerie: Get your ears and eyes ready to hear and see somebody who I've been following for quite a while. We've become friends over the heart and soul of how Bitcoin is connecting us and transforming us from the inside out—not just "number go up." Holly Berkeley is somebody so special; you guys are going to love this episode. We're going to be talking about conscious money for humanity. Holly, welcome! I would love for you to tell everybody how you became a bitcoiner. You've got an insane past, and now here you are with consciousness, Bitcoin, and humanity. Holly: I am so happy to be here! To back up a few decades, I've had an incredibly broad range of careers—big zigs and zags. I started in the arts as a classical ballet dancer for 10 years, then worked for Christie's Fine Arts and in art restoration. I graduated in chemistry and languages, a weird amalgam of things. But you can't live on an art salary in New York, so I talked my way into the back office of a primary dealer. They thought I'd make a good trader, so I got my Series 7 license and traded fixed income arbitrage. However, I wasn't sleeping at night; I didn't have that "trader personality" for risk. So, I taught myself computer languages, started writing software, and moved into the tech side of Wall Street. Eventually, I opened the Manhattan office for Sun Microsystems and later became the Director of Corporate Technology Strategy for American Express. Then, a personal event happened on April 15, 1991, that "red-pilled" me on the corporate matrix. It woke me up to the fact that everything is energy; we are spiritual beings having a human experience. It rug-pulled my version of reality. I started going down the rabbit hole of meditation, Reiki, and traditional Oriental medicine. I couldn't stay in the corporate world, so I developed my own holistic health practice, which I've had for the last 35 years. DJ Valerie: So next Tuesday, we are doing a live Spaces. Some people are on a journey and discover Bitcoin, then have a spiritual awakening. You and I had spiritual awakenings decades ago, and Bitcoin was the missing ingredient. How did your brain start going there? Holly: I heard about Bitcoin in 2017, but because of my tech and finance background, I dismissed it. I thought, "This isn't money. I know what money is." It wasn't until late January 2021 that I heard the Michael Saylor and Ross Stevens MicroStrategy World interview. Listening to that discussion, all the pieces fell into place. I had the tech and the finance knowledge, but I realized, "Oh, that's what this is. That's the role it's going to play in this global transformation." That was my orange pill moment—it was the capstone, the missing puzzle piece. After that, I was 100% in. I started liquidating my portfolio and stacking. DJ Valerie: Let's talk about the resistance people feel. Why do we self-sabotage even when we have a big vision? Holly: We are feeling things more intensely now because we are in a massive global transition. We can't take our baggage with us as we transition into higher levels of consciousness. We come into these incarnations to experience things, but we also accumulate traumas and form beliefs (e.g., "I'm not good enough"). These beliefs reside in the subconscious, like the bottom of an iceberg. You can do conscious affirmations, but they slide off like Teflon if you don't shift where the trauma resides—in the mental, emotional, and physical tissue memory. We are bio-electrical beings. Western medicine thinks of us as biochemical (drugs, hormones), but at the subatomic level, we are energy and frequency. When you work at that electrical level, you can clear things quickly. I call it "success through subtraction." We aren't making you better; we are taking away the "schmutz" (the dirt) that is in the way of you being your full essence. DJ Valerie: I love that word, "schmutz." It’s about clearing out the conditioning so the angel inside can be revealed. The light is always there; it just gets covered up. Holly: Have you heard of the "Telepathy Tapes"? It’s a series by a journalist investigating non-verbal autistic children. These kids use spelling boards to communicate, but it turns out they are communicating telepathically with each other, their parents, and teachers across time and space. We tend to think of autistic kids as diminished, but they are actually highly evolved beings with frequencies so high it's hard for them to dial it down for physical communication. They have a meeting place in the non-physical realm called "The Hill." This validates that we are conscious beings able to communicate without words. Material science cannot explain this; you have to move into the quantum side. DJ Valerie: Let's talk about collaborative custody. You work with Peter and Andy at The Bitcoin Advisor. Holly: Yes! I joined them about a year ago. We have 40 advisors around the world. We help people buy, manage, and secure their Bitcoin through multi-sig collaborative custody. Peter Dunworth has been a financial advisor for high-net-worth individuals for over 20 years. The protocol is rigorous—not a single Satoshi has ever been lost. It’s a 2-of-3 key setup, but only the client can initiate a transaction, eliminating single points of failure. We also do estate planning and tax strategies. I’m also working with a partner company called Orange Bridge on a product called "Co-Invest." It allows you to pull latent equity out of your house and put it into Bitcoin without a monthly payment (like a HELOC). It’s currently available in 17 states. DJ Valerie: What do you see for the future of Bitcoin and humanity? Holly: Bitcoin is going to form the foundational financial layer. It aligns with the values of the new earth emerging: decentralized, equal, sovereign, truthful, and transparent. Bitcoin is "energy money." We are moving from top-down, corporate, elite power structures to a time of unity consciousness and personal sovereignty. 2025 is a tipping point—a paradigm-shattering time. We will see rapid breakthroughs in science, energy medicine, and plasma physics. There are two timelines happening right now, like two trains leaving the station: The Fear Train: Mainstream media, holding onto the old crumbling system. The Love Train: Residing in joy, gratitude, and compassion. My advice for navigating this turbulent time is threefold: Stay in Grounded Stillness: Meditation, nature, whatever works for you. Maintain an Observer Perspective: Be the bird on the branch. Watch the drama without getting covered in the mud. Connect to Community: Find your "Vibe Tribe." Don't do it alone. DJ Valerie: That is beautiful. We're not the same people we were four years ago. We need to operate from a place of grace. Holly, thank you so much for being here. Holly: It was a joy. Peace, love, and warm Aloha to everyone.
- My Strange Tribute to Charlie Kirk: Finding Unity in Free Speech & The Voice of God
Why We Must Move Beyond "Us vs. Them" and Find the Courage to Speak Our Truth In this raw and unscripted tribute, I share why I respected Charlie Kirk despite not agreeing with everything he said. I talk about the sanctity of the First Amendment, the courage it takes to debate ideas without attacking people, and why we must stop judging others based on 10-second headlines. This is a call for unity, dialogue, and the bravery to stop self-censoring your own voice. 🎬 Watch the Full Episode 🎧 Listen to the Podcast ✨ Key Takeaways 1. Headlines are lies masquerading as news—do your research before you judge "Don't just read the headlines. Do your homework... But we are conditioned because they want to control us. They want us to be on sports, politics, and religion and call each other, you know, them versus us." — DJ Valerie B LOVE 2. The First Amendment isn't just about speech—it's about the freedom to refuse speech The beauty of living in a free country is you don't have to listen to anyone. You can swipe left. You can click away. You can choose not to give your attention. That freedom—to choose what you consume and who you engage with—is the real power of the First Amendment. 3. Charlie Kirk did something nobody else has done at scale: give platforms to people who disagreed with him Instead of talking at college students, he talked with them. He gave them 10-15 minutes to debate him on anything they wanted. This isn't a political move. It's a demonstration that dialogue is possible without name-calling, cursing, or personal attacks. 4. The Second Amendment exists to protect the First Amendment—and that matters A government that can disarm you can eventually silence you. The right to bear arms isn't primarily about hunting or self-defense against criminals. It's about having the power to resist tyranny. This is why both amendments are inseparable. 5. We're overworked, underpaid, and exhausted—that's by design "You are overworked. You are underpaid. Your dollar or currency, whatever you're using, is getting debased at an astronomical rate. So, you're exhausted, you're tired, you're confused, you're overwhelmed." — DJ Valerie B LOVE This isn't your fault. The system is designed to keep you too busy to think deeply, research thoroughly, or question the narratives you're fed. 6. Bitcoin is the missing piece that allows time for dialogue and research When you're not constantly worried about survival, you have bandwidth for the difficult work of understanding complexity. Sound money gives you time. Sound money gives you energy. Sound money gives you the psychological space to listen to views you disagree with. Episode Overview In this solo episode, I offer a "strange tribute" to Charlie Kirk following the news of his assassination. Speaking from a place of political independence and spiritual grounding, I reflect on the qualities I admired in Charlie: his encyclopedic mind, his fierce defense of free speech, and his willingness to hand the microphone to college students who disagreed with him. I dismantle the toxic "Us vs. Them" narrative that dominates our media, urging you to look past headlines and understand the human beings behind the pundits. I discuss the vital importance of the First Amendment, the role of the Second Amendment in protecting it, and the necessity of "common sense" over partisan loyalty. Most importantly, this episode is a spiritual invitation. It is a call to tune out the noise of the world, tune into the voice of God (or your Higher Power), and finally take the duct tape off your mouth. The world needs your voice now more than ever. About Charlie Kirk: A Tribute Charlie Kirk was a prominent American conservative activist, author, and the founder of Turning Point USA. While he was a polarizing figure in the political landscape, he was fundamentally a fierce defender of the First Amendment and a believer in the power of open dialogue. He was best known for his college campus tours, where he would sit in the "lion's den" surrounded by students who often disagreed with him. Unlike many modern pundits, Charlie was known for handing the microphone to his ideological opponents, giving them the floor for 10-15 minutes to debate ideas rather than resorting to name-calling. In this tribute, we honor the man behind the headlines: a person with an "encyclopedic mind" capable of recalling vast amounts of information instantly. Beyond the podium, Charlie was a devout man of God, a dedicated husband and father, and a person of deep personal discipline who abstained from alcohol and drugs. His legacy serves as a reminder that we can stand firm in our convictions while still engaging civilly with those who see the world differently. ⏱️ Episode Timestamps (00:00:06) Opening & Intent: Speaking from God, independent voice, not political or religious affiliated (00:01:26) Why Charlie Kirk Mattered: Debates with college students, encyclopedia mind, no cursing or name-calling (00:03:04) First Amendment & Independent Media: The courage to speak, the right to choose what you consume (00:04:46) Charlie's Method: Giving students platforms, long-form debate, listening to disagreement (00:06:27) Dialogue vs. Divisiveness: Headlines vs. reality, why headlines divide us, 40+ hours of research required (00:08:10) Independent Platforms: No censorship on Nostr, Tucker Carlson model, building your own network (00:10:00) Attacking Messenger vs. Debating Message: Why we've devolved, why intelligent debate matters (00:12:10) Personal Grief & Response: The assassination of Charlie Kirk, using tragedy as catalyst (00:14:00) Old-Fashioned Values & Virtue: Chivalry, commitment, paying for dates, moral leadership (00:16:15) First & Second Amendments: Gun rights protect speech rights, common-sense regulations, civilian protection (00:18:15) Exhaustion & Sound Money: Why people can't research, why Bitcoin gives time and energy back (00:20:01) Final Call to Action: Use your voice, speak your truth, listen to God, unity over division 🙋♀️ Common Qu estions About Free Speech, Media, and Dialogue Isn't it dangerous to give platforms to people you disagree with? No—it's the opposite. The danger comes from silencing people and forcing disagreement underground where it festers. When you talk openly with someone you disagree with, one of two things happens: (1) you understand their perspective better and perhaps learn something, or (2) you strengthen your own beliefs through honest debate. Both outcomes are healthy. The alternative—censorship and division—has never led to peace. How do I know what's true if I can't spend 40 hours researching every topic? You can't. And it's not your fault. The system is designed to exhaust you so that you don't have time to think deeply. This is exactly why Bitcoin matters—it's a form of resistance against a system that profits from your confusion and exhaustion. As you gain financial sovereignty, you gain time and energy for real research. Isn't the First Amendment just a US thing? Why should I care? Because you probably live in a country where free speech is limited. Even in democracies, speech is increasingly restricted by governments, corporations, and social pressure. The principle—that human beings should be able to speak, debate, and exchange ideas freely—is universal. Charlie Kirk's assassination proves that speaking truthfully still carries physical risk. How do I avoid being brainwashed by headlines? Do your homework. Seek long-form content. Follow the people you disagree with AND the people you agree with. Notice when media outlets attack the person instead of the argument. When someone says "this person is bad," ask yourself: do I actually know that, or did I read a headline? Most of us can't do this work because we're exhausted—which brings us back to Bitcoin and sound money. Isn't "common sense" just code for people imposing their values on others? Sometimes, yes. But there are some things that transcend political ideology: honesty matters. Dialogue matters. Integrity matters. Loving your family matters. Working hard matters. These aren't left-wing or right-wing values—they're human values. The sad thing is that we've made basic decency "partisan." What does Bitcoin have to do with free speech? Everything. When you're financially desperate, you'll accept censorship, work for unethical companies, and compromise your values just to survive. When you have financial sovereignty—when you own your money, control your time, and aren't dependent on corporations or governments—you can afford to speak truth. Bitcoin gives you time. Time gives you the luxury of having principles. 🩷 Subscribe + Join the LOVE Tribe Subscribe to 11x LOVE Notes — New episodes and sticky notes for your soul 🔥 Ready to Transform Your Life? It’s been a minute. I hope you are doing well on this Sunday morning. I’m a little nervous doing this video because of all the violence and toxicity in the world lately, especially with this assassination of Charlie Kirk. It’s important to me to do this because God told me to. I have my own version of God that I believe in, but I want to first name that I speak as an independent. I am not political. I am not associated with the left, the right, progressives, liberals, MAGA, or Republicans. My affiliation is also not specifically Christian, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, or Hindu. I am none of the above and I am all of the above. I want to get that crystal clear before I speak: I am an independent child of God. Period. End of story. I am speaking through that lens and from my own perspective and heart. My wish for this video is to pay tribute to somebody who I did not always agree with, but I appreciated the way he did things. There were many things I appreciated about him, and many things I didn’t like. I just need to get this off my chest. I started watching Charlie Kirk a while back during election season. I saw a video where he was sitting in a circle of about 20 college kids debating them. Words are my love language, so I found that really interesting. I also liked the media company—I forget the name—where they would have someone from the left debate people from the right, and vice versa. I thought that was cool because we need to have more conversations and dialogues in our country. Sadly, we don't. We have headlines and short snippets of information; people pick a side, decide the other side is evil, and stick their flag in the ground. One of the reasons I liked Charlie Kirk was because he was a fierce defender of the First Amendment, and I am too. We have the right to free speech—certainly not to call for violence—but we also live in a country where we don't have to listen. You can just swipe left. We aren't forced to do exactly what our government says like in a dictatorship, which is a giant blessing. I loved Charlie’s college campus tours. He would go out in front of thousands of students, not knowing if they were on his side or against him, and give them a microphone for 10 or 15 minutes to debate him on any subject—abortion, God, trans issues, or politics. I was impressed with his encyclopedic mind and his ability to recall information. It wasn't about putting people down; I never heard him curse or call people names. He was a man of God, his family, and his community. Even though I don’t believe everything he believed or support everyone he supported, I respect that God was his driving force. I watched probably 40 hours of his long-form debates. He discussed racism, DEI, and subjects people are afraid to have open conversations about. It is one thing for paid news anchors to talk behind a desk; it’s another to be in uncharted territory giving the microphone to students. Nobody has done that to the scale that Charlie did. It is vital that we listen to young people and have intelligent dialogues with people we disagree with, rather than just screaming on social media. No human agrees with another 100% of the time. We have independent media now. I can pop up a live stream and speak without being censored by sponsors or networks. What we are seeing is an attempt to cancel people, but independent journalism—like what Charlie did—allows us to say what we want. I hope others rise up to have intelligent debates about policies and ideas rather than attacking the messenger. Unfortunately, somebody attacked the messenger that was Charlie Kirk with a bullet. Charlie, I am thankful for your time on this earth. You were a special voice. It is scary to use your voice and stand in front of people who disagree with you while maintaining composure. This is a unique turning point in the United States and hopefully for the world. I pray you are at peace and watching over your beautiful family. I am so sorry they lost you to violence just because you spoke. Like Martin Luther King, who wasn't a perfect human but was a great man, we are all just humans doing our best. We all have faults. I admired that Charlie didn't drink or smoke; he was a virtuous person and a role model for young people in a time where chivalry and commitment are fading. I recall him saying he would be embarrassed as a man if he didn’t pay for a woman on a date. I appreciated those old-fashioned values. In my research, I never saw him promote violence or hate. It is easy to take things out of context to make a headline. We are conditioned to divide ourselves—us versus them—but I believe in the human race collectively. I am grateful he taught me not to be afraid to use my voice. I have self-censored a lot as a mother, afraid of judgment, but I am done with that. I am full of rage because, as a society, we have not gotten our act together. We are allowing violence to happen. I appreciate the Second Amendment because it exists to protect the First Amendment. I believe in gun laws, licenses, and insurance for accountability, but I also believe people should have the right to defend themselves against predators or a toxic government. I wish we could just have a "Common Sense Party." I’ve had the roughest 17 months of my life with health and family issues, so I’ve been on a hiatus. However, I will be serving you the best way I can with the podcast. My invitation to you is to tune into your God—whatever that version is for you—and make that your guiding force. Use that strength to speak your truth, share your vision, and share your love. Stop being afraid. Do your research before you judge. It is not your fault that you haven't; you are overworked, underpaid, and your currency is being debased. You are exhausted. That is why I am a Bitcoiner—I want to build a world with sound money so people have time to understand things deeper. But be careful standing firm in positions based only on headlines. Listen to God and act from there. I am grateful for our country and those who fought for our freedom. I pray that everyone on planet Earth has the opportunity to use their voice if they wish. We need more voices of love, power, truth, and unity. It’s not "us versus them"; there is only us. I love you very much. God bless you and your families. Have a wonderful Sunday. More peace and more love, please. Thanks, God.
- Bitcoin for Spiritual Seekers: The Dao of Money with Scott Dedels
Why Bitcoin and Ancient Spirituality Point to the Same Truth What happens when you combine ancient spiritual wisdom with the hardest money ever invented? You get The Dao of Bitcoin . In this soul-expanding episode, I sit down with Scott Dedels to discuss why Bitcoin isn't just a financial technology—it's a spiritual tool that can heal our relationship with time, energy, and the present moment. 🎬 Watch the Full Episode 🎧 Listen to the Podcast ✨ Key Takeaways 1. Pre-Bitcoiners are actually pre-Daoists—many spiritual seekers are unintentionally practicing Bitcoin philosophy "I think a lot of Bitcoiners are actually pre-Daoists because a lot of the ideas—if you've really embodied and learned the things—Bitcoin changes the way you think about everything. And it just so happens that a lot of the things that change in you are the same sorts of things that Daoists appreciate and spend time pondering." — Scott Dedels 2. Inflation is literally theft of your time and energy, not just financial value "Money really is just a representation of energy and time. I need to spend my time and my energy to get money. You do the same. We use this thing so that we can trade our time and energy with each other. So it's not actually financial value that's being stolen from us. It is our finite time and our energy." — Scott Dedels 3. Fiat money is an extractive system; Bitcoin is constructive—this distinction matters spiritually Most spiritual seekers feel energetic blocks around money without understanding why. The truth: they've been adopted into a monetary system that operates in a way that makes abundance impossible. A sound money system removes this energetic distortion. 4. Bitcoin gives us the "rules not rulers" that Daoism teaches through the procedural nature of math The Dao is procedural. It has no leaders. Neither does Bitcoin. Both operate on principles that are universal, unchangeable, and accessible to all. This is what makes Bitcoin spiritually revolutionary—it's not subject to human manipulation or corruption. 5. The Dao solves the binary problem: you can be present AND secure simultaneously Daoism teaches presence in the now. Traditional money forces you to choose: be anxious about the future or live without security. Bitcoin's fixed supply removes the anxiety, allowing you to finally be present without abandoning your family's future. 6. Earning Bitcoin changes your relationship to money more than buying Bitcoin ever will "You're more likely to spend something you've earned rather than something you bought because you think it's going to appreciate in price. People who earn Bitcoin understand it as money first, investment second." — Scott Dedels Episode Overview In this intimate conversation, I sit down with Scott Dedels—author, entrepreneur, and founder of Block Rewards—to explore the fascinating intersection of Daoism, spirituality, and Bitcoin. Scott shares his journey from the traditional financial world to discovering how fiat currency essentially steals our time and energy, creating a background hum of anxiety in our lives. We dive deep into the philosophy of money: how inflation forces us onto a "hamster wheel," keeping us from the present moment, and how Bitcoin acts as a "giant metronome" synchronizing human consciousness. Scott explains the core concept of his book, The Dao of Bitcoin , and why "pre-coiners" are often just "pre-Daoists" looking for the natural order of things. From the objectivity of math (1+1=2) to the impermanence of Burning Man, this conversation bridges the gap between your wallet and your soul. Discover how fixing the money can help fix your inner peace. Can I practice it alongside my own faith? No, Daoism is a spiritual tradition and philosophy, not a religion. It has no leaders, no dogma that conflicts with other faiths. The Dao describes an underlying universal principle that connects all things—a concept compatible with Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and secular worldviews. The Dao is procedural, not prescriptive. How is inflation really "theft of time and energy"? When you earn money, you're trading your time and energy for it. When inflation erodes that money's purchasing power, the system is stealing the value of the time and energy you spent earning it. A worker in 2020 earning $10/hour couldn't buy the same amount of groceries in 2025 with that same hourly wage. That's theft of the fruits of their labor. Why should I earn Bitcoin instead of just buying it? Behaviorally and psychologically, earning Bitcoin changes your relationship to it. You see it as compensation for work—as money—rather than as a speculative asset. People who earn Bitcoin understand it as a medium of exchange first and a store of value second. This mental shift is crucial for adoption and long-term holding. Can I really run a business on Bitcoin, or isn't the tax reporting too complicated? It's complicated now, especially in jurisdictions like Canada and the US where every Bitcoin transaction is a taxable event. However, Scott expects regulatory change within years. What matters is: if you're already running tight margins (6-8% profit), converting Bitcoin to fiat to pay bills creates capital gains taxes that crush profitability. This is solvable through time-in-market strategy and legal innovation. Should I put retirement savings in Bitcoin or an RRSP/401k? Scott argues: if you have the discipline to self-custody and hold Bitcoin without panic-selling, Bitcoin is superior to RRSPs/401ks. Here's why: RRSPs are tax-deferred, not tax-free. When you withdraw, you pay income tax at whatever the future rate is (could be higher than today). Plus, in Canada, you can't self-custody Bitcoin in an RRSP—only hold Bitcoin ETFs, losing the sovereignty benefit. What's the connection between presence and sound money? Fiat money creates constant anxiety about the future—will you have enough? Will inflation destroy your savings? This anxiety activates your fight-or-flight response and pulls you out of the present moment. Bitcoin's fixed supply removes this anxiety. You can plan for the future without sacrificing presence right now. How does the "procedural nature" of Daoism relate to Bitcoin? The Dao operates procedurally—constantly in motion, eternally returning to center, with no central authority directing it. Bitcoin works the same way: tick-tock, next block, every 10 minutes, no CEO deciding to change the rules. Both systems trust the process instead of trusting people. 🩷 Subscribe + Join the LOVE Tribe Subscribe to 11x LOVE Notes — New episodes and sticky notes for your soul 🔥 Ready to Transform Your Life? Happy Thankful Thursday. I have somebody here with me who is a spiritual seeker just like many of you listening. He is also a Bitcoiner and entrepreneur. He's the founder of Block Rewards , author of The Dao of Bitcoin and Bitcoin for Financial Advisors , and the host of the Block Reward podcast. Welcome, Scott Dedels. How's it going, my brother? Scott Dedels: It's going very well. Thank you so much for having me on. It's great to be here. DJ Valerie: You just got back from Australia, right? Scott: Yeah, I love Australia. I was down there speaking at Bitcoin Alive , which is the premier Australian Bitcoin event. I love Bitcoin conferences, and combining that with a trip was so much fun. DJ Valerie: Let's let the audience know who you are and how you got here. I saw you went to Hawaii Pacific, and you have a background in finance. Scott: Yes, I lived in Honolulu for two years as a grad student. I’m Canadian, so eventually, I landed back in Canada and got into financial services. I spent 15 years working in compensation, rewards, and pension plan consulting. Then in 2020, the government started printing a lot of money and forcing us to stay home. My Bitcoin origin story started there. I turned off Netflix and started wondering what all this money printing meant for pension portfolios. I started reading economics textbooks, and Amazon recommended The Price of Tomorrow by Jeff Booth. That book got me. I spent the rest of the lockdown voraciously reading every Bitcoin book I could. I realized we are moving towards a world where people will not want to work for fiat money. Block Rewards is a company dedicated to payroll and HR tools that run on Bitcoin only, helping companies and staff earn in Bitcoin. DJ Valerie: How is Block Rewards different from other platforms? Scott: We focus on the idea that people should simply earn Bitcoin. In places like Latin America, people already prefer to earn in US dollars if the local money has failed. I feel us in the Western world should be thinking the same way. If we have the choice, it makes more sense today to earn Bitcoin. So we focus on "pay in Bitcoin" rather than just "plan for retirement with Bitcoin." DJ Valerie: Many entrepreneurs push back on this because of capital gains taxes and accounting headaches. How do you address that fear? Scott: It comes down to the difference between timing the market and time in the market . If you aren't storing your wealth in Bitcoin, you are likely doing something else complicated to preserve it—like running an Airbnb side hustle or day trading stocks. Bitcoin is actually the simplest way to plan for the future without needing to do all that extra risky stuff. The math says over time, you should be winning more with Bitcoin than any other way. DJ Valerie: Let’s talk about your book, The Dao of Bitcoin . How did you get from the financial world to writing about spirituality and Bitcoin? Scott: I was introduced to Daoism in university through a book called The Tao of the Jump Shot when I was a basketball player. Later, I spent a year teaching English in central China, which profoundly impacted me. When I started learning about Bitcoin, I immediately saw the connection. I joke that many "pre-coiners" are actually "pre-Daoists." Bitcoin changes the way you think about everything—time preference, why we are here, and how we interact. It just so happens that the things that change in you are the same things Daoists appreciate and ponder. DJ Valerie: For those listening who might not know, what is the Dao? Is it a religion? Scott: It’s a spiritual tradition, but I don’t think it’s at odds with traditional religions. The belief is that there is a central, underlying, universal force or principle that guides physical reality and connects all things. Intrinsic to its nature is that it is procedural. Everything is constantly in motion, but it’s always a return trip back to the Dao—like how seasons always return to winter. DJ Valerie: I love that you say "procedural nature." Math is so grounding. 1+1=2. Bitcoin is math; it's "tick-tock, next block." It’s objective, unlike the human condition which is subjective and messy. Scott: Exactly. That is the gap between subjectivity and objectivity. Once things become subjective, we are left to our own interpretations, which causes anxiety. In the case of money, we are all on individual hamster wheels spinning faster and faster because the game is rigged to get harder. Bitcoin provides an objective reality. DJ Valerie: How has this realization changed your daily life? Scott: I don't think about the future with anxiety anymore. I have a definition in the book: The Dao of Bitcoin is a sense of tranquility that accompanies a comprehension of energy money. When you truly grasp what it means to have a financial tool that preserves your time and energy, the paralyzing anxiety about the future—which is rooted in the theft of your time via inflation—disappears. Inflation isn't just stealing value; it's stealing the time and energy you spent to earn that money. When you remove that theft, you can actually exist in the present moment. DJ Valerie: We are being hijacked by stress chemicals and dopamine loops from social media and mainstream media. Scott: Yes, we are seeing a compression of attention spans. But you cannot speed Bitcoin up. It acts like a giant metronome, standardizing the human perception of time and synchronizing human consciousness. We can’t help but eventually click into that same rhythm. DJ Valerie: We live in a throwaway culture—plastic cups, fast fashion, even relationships via text. It’s the opposite of nature. Scott: It’s a disposable world. When everything becomes disposable, we start to think of ourselves and other people as disposable. Daoism teaches Wu Wei (effortless action)—not rowing against the stream, but not trying to row faster than the river flows either. DJ Valerie: Speaking of impermanence, are you going to Burning Man? Scott: I am! It will be my first burn this year. DJ Valerie: Burning Man is impermanence at its finest. You build these massive art structures and then burn them down. It teaches you to be in the "now" because legacy doesn't really exist—it's all temporary. And it’s a gift economy, not a barter economy. Scott: I’m excited about the preparation. In Daoism, gratitude is intertwined with understanding impermanence. When you understand that nothing lasts—whether it's aging or wealth—you become more connected with what you do have right now. DJ Valerie: You are going to love it. I will connect you with the Lamplighters for the procession. DJ Valerie: Scott, where can people find you and your book? Scott: You can find me on X (Twitter) at @lanternbitcoin . "Lantern" comes from my time in China—it’s an old way of illuminating things. You can also find me on LinkedIn under Scott Dedels or look up Block Rewards at blockrewards.ca . The book, The Dao of Bitcoin , is available on Amazon. DJ Valerie: Thank you so much for spending this time with us. It’s been an incredible conversation about the intersection of spirituality, philosophy, and Bitcoin. Scott: Thank you, Val. I love hearing from people who read the book, so please reach out!
- Bitcoin in Africa for Surfer Kids: How Hermann Vivier Built a Bitcoin-Powered Youth Empowerment Movement in South Africa
How Young Surfers Become Bitcoin Adoption Agents What if the best way to teach financial literacy isn't a textbook, but a surfboard and a Lightning wallet? In this powerful episode, I sit down with Hermann Vivier , founder of Bitcoin Ekasi and The Surfer Kids , to discuss how he flipped a traditional non-profit onto a Bitcoin standard. From paying coaches in BTC to helping kids save their rewards in 'decoy wallets' to stay safe, Hermann’s story is a masterclass in using Bitcoin to build real-world freedom and circular economies where they are needed most. 🎬 Watch the Full Episode 🎧 Listen to the Podcast ✨ Key Takeaways 1. Bitcoin adoption happens fastest when framed as a medium of exchange, not a store of value—especially for unbanked youth "We introduced it as a medium of exchange to the children and to the coaches who work for us because it makes more sense in their frame of reference. If you're earning minimum wage and you spend most of what you earn, introducing Bitcoin as a medium of exchange just makes more sense. You can buy stuff with it in ways you weren't able to buy things before." — Hermann Vivier 2. A 10-year nonprofit pivot can unlock massive impact when combined with sound money principles Hermann spent a decade teaching surfing to township kids in South Africa. But during COVID-19 lockdowns—when tourism funding dried up and beaches closed—he faced a reckoning: Was he creating real societal change or just applying band-aids? That's when Bitcoin became the answer to a problem he'd been wrestling with for years. 3. Kids earning Bitcoin rewards learn financial responsibility faster than any classroom curriculum One teenager in the program saved his Bitcoin earnings over three years and used them to build an extension to his family's home—giving himself his own bedroom for the first time. That's not just financial literacy. That's dignity and self-determination earned through work, not handouts. 4. Bitcoin bypasses infrastructure barriers that make traditional banking impossible for marginalized communities "How would you do this with a fiat system? You wouldn't be able to do it with digital banking because opening bank accounts for these kids would be completely impossible. Many of them don't have birth certificates. Many don't have proof of address. Bitcoin is the only thing you can do it with." — Hermann Vivier 5. Protecting young earners from predatory family members is possible through Bitcoin's permissionless infrastructure When unsupportive families try to steal a kid's earnings, Hermann's team uses Bitcoin's flexibility to create read-only wallets where the child can monitor their balance but can't be coerced into spending it. No traditional bank offers this. Episode Overview In this powerful conversation, we sit down with Hermann Vivier—founder of Bitcoin Ekasi (Bitcoin Township) and the Surfer Kids program—to explore how Bitcoin is transforming youth empowerment in South Africa's most economically marginalized communities. Hermann's journey began in 2010 when he and his wife founded Surfer Kids, a nonprofit that teaches young people in Mossel Bay's township to surf as a vehicle for personal development and community connection. For over a decade, this program thrived on donations and tourism revenue. But when COVID-19 hit, funding evaporated, beaches closed, and Hermann found himself asking the hard question: What am I really building here? His answer arrived in 2021: if he couldn't change the monetary system, he could at least opt his organization out of it. Inspired by Bitcoin Beach's Mike Peterson (El Salvador), Hermann began transitioning Bitcoin Ekasi entirely to a Bitcoin standard—paying staff salaries in sats, fundraising in Bitcoin, and creating unprecedented opportunities for young people to earn, learn, and save in a currency designed for financial sovereignty. About Hermann Vivier Hermann Vivier is the founder of The Surfer Kids and Bitcoin Ekasi, a non-profit organization based in Mossel Bay, South Africa. His mission is to empower marginalized youth through surfing and financial education. Inspired by Bitcoin Beach in El Salvador, Hermann has established a thriving Bitcoin circular economy in the township, proving that Bitcoin is a powerful tool for social change. His work has caught the attention of leading Bitcoin educators and advocates, and he continues to focus on proving that Bitcoin adoption isn't a top-down mandate—it emerges organically when communities discover it solves real, immediate problems. (02:05:23) How to support Bitcoin Ekasi and the upcoming Adopting Bitcoin conference. 🙋♀️ Common Questions About Bitcoin Adoption for Youth & Communities What is Bitcoin Ekasi? Bitcoin Ekasi is a Bitcoin circular economy project based in a township in Mossel Bay, South Africa. It was founded by Hermann Vivier to support The Surfer Kids non-profit, paying coaches in Bitcoin and onboarding local merchants to accept it. How does Bitcoin help the unbanked in South Africa? As Hermann explains, many people in townships lack birth certificates or proof of address required for bank accounts. Bitcoin allows them to transact digitally, buy phone credit, and save money without permission or paperwork. Is it safe for kids to hold Bitcoin in high-crime areas? Yes, it is safer than cash. Cash can be stolen physically. Bitcoin Ekasi teaches kids to use self-custody and sometimes sets up "view-only" wallets (or decoy wallets) so that even if pressured by family or thieves, the funds cannot be moved without a coach's authorization. What is the connection between Surfing and Bitcoin? Both require dedication, resilience, and a low time preference. The Surfer Kids program uses surfing to teach discipline and personal growth, while Bitcoin provides the financial tools to secure their future. Why not just use Lightning Network or a stablecoin instead? The point isn't to use the most sophisticated tool—it's to use the tool that's most appropriate. Lightning is great for small transactions. Stablecoins are useful for avoiding volatility. But Bitcoin on-chain offers something both lack: true, unconfiscatable ownership of digital property. For young people in precarious situations, that matters more than speed or stability. 🩷 Subscribe + Join the LOVE Tribe Subscribe to 11x LOVE Notes — New episodes and sticky notes for your soul 🔥 Ready to Transform Your Life? Welcome to the show. I have someone here with me who has been supporting young people with their dreams, empowerment, and personal development using nature—specifically surfing—and combining that with the power of Bitcoin and financial empowerment. This is Herman Vivier of Bitcoin and the Surfer Kids . Welcome. Thank you so much for being here. Herman: Thanks for having me. I really appreciate it. DJ Valerie: Let’s let the audience know who you are and how you got here. We met a couple of years ago at the Adopting Bitcoin conference in El Salvador, and I’ve been a long-time follower of what you’ve been doing. What is Bitcoin Ekasi and what are The Surfer Kids ? Herman: We are basically a community-based nonprofit charity organization. It’s a small charity; we work with about 60 to 70 kids total, with a daily attendance of about 40. These are the same kids returning every day, so it operates almost like a school. We have been teaching kids surfing since 2010. In 2021, just over 10 years after starting, we flipped the whole organization onto a Bitcoin standard. We kept doing exactly what we were doing before—surfing—but we started fundraising in Bitcoin and, more importantly, started paying the salaries of all staff in Bitcoin. Today, we pay 100% of salaries in Bitcoin. We have about 10 full-time staff and another 10 part-timers, most of whom are youngsters who came up through the program. DJ Valerie: How did that transition happen in 2021? You had been running the program since 2010, and suddenly you integrated Bitcoin. How did that work during the lockdowns? Herman: The lockdowns were rough in South Africa. The transition happened due to a few contributing factors. After 10 years, I was asking myself: "What am I doing? Am I really changing anything?" I knew of personal success stories, but I was interested in societal change. I realized things had to change on a fundamental level, otherwise, we were just putting band-aids on serious wounds. Additionally, our funding, which came mostly through tourism, dried up because my wife and I run a tour operator business that had to shut down. We had to let staff go and scale down operations. Even the beaches were closed. The third factor was that I wanted to contribute to global Bitcoin adoption. I was obsessed with Bitcoin by then. I was introduced to it in 2013 and received my first Bitcoin payment in our business in 2015. I remember watching that transaction confirm and thinking, "There is no way the banks are going to win this battle." So, the thought came to me: Why don't I just copy what Bitcoin Beach did? We had a strong foothold in the community, and I realized moving salaries to Bitcoin would bring attention to the organization and drive adoption. DJ Valerie: Bitcoin is often debated as a Store of Value versus a Medium of Exchange. But for the people you work with, using it as a medium of exchange is vital. How do the kids and staff view this? Herman: The debate won't ever really be settled because we need both. I find more validity in the "Medium of Exchange" side simply because those proponents recognize it is both at the same time. We introduced it as a medium of exchange because that makes sense in our staff's frame of reference. If you earn minimum wage, introducing Bitcoin as a "savings mechanism" first doesn't work. But if you show them they can buy things online or transact in ways they couldn't before (because they are unbanked), it clicks. The long-term aim is still to teach the "Store of Value" aspect because that is how you change your life—by building capital. But you can’t introduce that by handing someone The Bitcoin Standard book if they struggle with literacy or big numbers. You let them use it as money first. DJ Valerie: How are the kids' lives being transformed? Do they understand that this is a tool for freedom and sovereignty? Herman: It depends on the age. The older kids, who have been with us for years and now work for us, definitely understand. For the younger kids (starting around age six), we use a reward system based on attendance. If they have high attendance, we reward them in sats (satoshis). We primarily want to teach them that effort brings reward. Secondly, we do it in Bitcoin because we have no choice—we couldn't do this with fiat. These kids don't have IDs or bank accounts, and cash is a security nightmare. We run a self-hosted BTCPay Server with NFC cards, effectively becoming the bank for these kids. A great example is one of our older kids, who is turning 18. He saved his Bitcoin earnings for three years and built an extension onto his father's house so he could have his own room. In a township context where families live in a single room, this is huge. He understands he achieved this because he saved in an asset that appreciated in value. DJ Valerie: How do the families react? Are they supportive? Herman: In the case I just mentioned, the father was very supportive. However, we do have cases where families are not supportive and try to take the money. Because it is Bitcoin, we can mitigate this. We can set up wallets where the child can view the balance but cannot spend it unless they are with a coach. If a family member tries to take the funds or if a wallet is compromised, we can move the funds to a new wallet instantly. It allows us to steward the funds in the child's best interest in a way that would be impossible with a bank account. DJ Valerie: What does the circular economy look like there? Are the kids orange-pilling the vendors? Herman: The salaries we pay are the "pistons" of the engine. We pay about 20 salaries in Bitcoin. Each employee has dependents, so roughly 100 to 200 people have direct daily exposure to Bitcoin. They spend their sats at about 30 to 40 local shops we have onboarded. We also have side projects, like paying residents to clean up trash around their homes in Bitcoin, or selling donated clothes for sats to teach people how to use a wallet. One of the most effective ways to demonstrate Bitcoin is phone credit. In our community, if you run out of airtime, you have to walk to a shop with cash to buy a voucher. Showing someone they can top up their phone instantly using "magic internet money" takes five minutes and blows their mind. That utility wins them over. DJ Valerie: You mention in your bio that you are a recovering addict. How does that part of your life intersect with Bitcoin? Herman: I was introduced to Bitcoin and entered recovery for drug addiction in the same year—2013. The concept of extreme personal responsibility is central to both. In recovery, I learned that no one can fix your problem but you. You have to stop blaming external circumstances. Bitcoin makes sense to me because it is a system of extreme personal responsibility. If you hand over responsibility to a central authority, you create incentives for corruption. There is a fascinating parallel regarding "Proof of Work." In Bitcoin, you cannot fake the energy required to create a block. Similarly, in recovery, you cannot fake being clean. An addict is predictable—they will get high. A recovering addict is someone who has done the work to change. That change is undeniable; it is a "proof of work" that cannot be forged. Conversely, the fiat system operates like an addiction. Central banks printing money to solve problems is exactly like an addict looking for the next fix. DJ Valerie: That is powerful. Herman, thank you for what you are doing. How can people support you? Herman: X (Twitter) is the best place to connect. Our website is bitcoinekasi.com . If people wish to donate, they can go to support.bitcoinekasi.com . We are currently fundraising to build a new center, which is our biggest project yet. DJ Valerie: Thank you, Herman. You are one of my Bitcoin heroes. Herman: Thank you. I appreciate it.
- A LOVE Letter to the Malnourished Masculine
Mmmmmmmm, I see you my sexy strong warrior man. Battling dragons and demons everyday to keep your loved ones safe and sound, providing food on the table and a roof over our heads. You have a massively demanding and scary job being the provider, protector, and pleasurer of us women and children. Thank YOU from the bottom of my heart for your never ending devotion and service to our wellbeing, safety, and flourishing. I see you holding back tears when you feel pain, crying alone in the darkness, terrified and suffering in silence because you want us to believe everything is going to be ok. Standing on the frontlines braving the elements of destruction and devastation so we may enjoy peace in our homes. So many temptations of the flesh are designed by the dark side to make you weaker and more easily defeatable in the daily battles you face. Men who mindfully develop resilience and resistance to these illusions of conquest and spiritual landmines always achieve greatness at a higher number than those who succumb to temptation, cave in and collapse to short-term pleasure of the flesh. I applaud you for staying true to your quest, your life mission to make the world safer, happier, healthier, and more prosperous for all current and future generations. The sacred masculine must be extremely well-nourished with frequent sincere reminders and appreciation of your sacrifices and relentless daily inner and outer work you do for the betterment of the whole world. When the sacred masculine is malnourished, you serve no one and your mission most definitely will fail . When your soul is malnourished you become violent with your thoughts, words, and actions leading to destruction rather than construction of a better world. When your mind is malnourished and intoxicated with poisons, you devolve into a caveman thinking greed, control, and manipulation are the way to achieve your goals. When your body is malnourished you become lazy and lethargic and only focus on short-term junk food for sustenance which causes spiritual and physical cancer. When your powerful sexuality is repressed and malnourished, you treat women as throw-away objects to be hunted or caged rather than regenerative ranches to be cherished and cultivated benefiting generations to come, you starve your family of healthy, optimal energy and interactions, leaving children repeating the same cycle of extraction and exploitation rather than regeneration. I am not telling you this to make you feel badly for having these desires, thoughts, and actions. I am telling you this so that you are crystal clear on knowing your internal and external enemies and how to consistently defeat them. I am sharing this because I BELIEVE in YOU my dear masculine warrior soul. YOU were born for greatness and it is your God-given birthright to bravely step into your power and become the man - the real man - you are destined to be. This doesn’t mean you will not fall down on your path to destiny, surely not. But when you commit to your calling and combine forces with the Creator, God, Spirit, Universe, you cannot fail my fierce warrior. When you understand all the “dickstractions” put there by the dark side to tempt you and lead you down a dark path away from your mission, you will begin to make more conscious choices aligned with your destiny that nourish that gorgeous sexy sacred masculine warrior soul and all the loved ones in your life. I see you and WOW, what a sight to behold. Thank you again for your powerful presence and devotion to the mission of making you, your loved ones, and the world a way better place.

In this episode, I sit down with Metamick (Co-founder of Geyser Fund ), who is helping build the 'middle class' of the creator economy. From painting murals in El Salvador to funding Bitcoin education in Nigeria, discover why the future of fundraising is peer-to-peer. 🎬 Watch the Full Episode 🎧 Listen to the Podcast ✨ Key Takeaways 1. Lightning Network will scale Bitcoin to the world The Lightning Network is Bitcoin's practical scaling solution, enabling instant, low-cost transactions globally. 2. Patreon and Kickstarter only work in a few countries Traditional crowdfunding platforms have geographic limitations; Bitcoin has none. 3. Geyser founders felt blessed by Bitcoin and wanted to give back "I love to give back because I feel like with Bitcoin I've been blessed and empowered in so many ways and I want to give back to the community." - MetaMick 4. Small donations create exponential impact across currency conversion A $5 donation in El Salvador equals a day's work for many; Bitcoin's borderlessness amplifies small gifts globally. 5. Bitcoin enables decentralized entrepreneurship without permission Bitcoin removes gatekeepers; anyone can launch projects and seek community support globally. 6. Bitcoin is a live digital organism that needs humans to succeed Bitcoin's success depends on real-world adoption through spending, not just holding. Episode Overview In this episode, I sit down with MetaMick, co-founder of Geyser—the first Bitcoin-native crowdfunding platform—to discuss how peer-to-peer fundraising on the Lightning Network is revolutionizing global project funding. MetaMick shares how he discovered the gap in crowdfunding: traditional platforms (Patreon, Kickstarter, GoFundMe) only work in a handful of countries with significant friction and fees, while Bitcoin enables borderless, permissionless funding. Launched in January 2022, Geyser has facilitated $1.5 million in donations (42-43 BTC, now valued at ~$44 million at current prices) across 100+ projects including Bitcoin education, creative startups, humanitarian initiatives, and community projects worldwide. The conversation explores three pillars of successful fundraising: trust/reputation, proof of work (effort invested), and vision/impact. MetaMick explains Geyser's vetting approach—filtering scams while remaining open to new creators—and shares success stories like Bitcoin Trading Cards (raised $500K, boxes now worth $30-40K) and community murals in El Salvador transformed with just $3,000 in global Bitcoin donations. The conversation concludes with a deep dive into Bitcoin as a decentralizing force against AI's centralization, the importance of Bitcoin as a medium of exchange (not just store of value), and the grassroots movement of individuals building Bitcoin adoption through real-world projects—without permission from traditional gatekeepers. About MetaMick MetaMick is the co-founder of Geyser—a Bitcoin-native crowdfunding platform leveraging the Lightning Network to enable peer-to-peer fundraising globally. His mission is to empower creators, nonprofits, and Bitcoin initiatives to raise funds and build projects without geographic or regulatory limitations. MetaMick started as a Bitcoiner deeply interested in the Lightning Network's potential to scale Bitcoin. He initially worked in the crypto space (Ethereum) but felt unfulfilled by the direction of traditional cryptocurrencies. Seeing impressive crowdfunding tools being built on Ethereum, he realized Bitcoin had no equivalent—and that Bitcoin made the most sense for global crowdfunding. Geyser is the first Bitcoin-native crowdfunding platform powered by the Lightning Network. It enables peer-to-peer fundraising globally without geographic restrictions, allowing creators, nonprofits, startups, and initiatives to raise funds from the Bitcoin community worldwide. How is Geyser different from Patreon, Kickstarter, or GoFundMe? Traditional platforms only operate in 20-30 countries with significant fees and friction. Geyser works everywhere Bitcoin works—globally, with near-instant transactions and minimal fees via the Lightning Network. It's specifically designed for Bitcoin projects and community-funded initiatives. Who founded Geyser? MetaMick is the co-founder of Geyser. He created the platform with his co-founder Stellios after realizing Bitcoin made crowdfunding obviously possible but no one had built it yet. When was Geyser launched? Geyser launched in January 2022. As of 2025, it has facilitated $1.5 million USD (~42-43 BTC, now valued at ~$44 million) across 100+ projects globally. What types of projects can I launch on Geyser? Geyser supports: Bitcoin education and awareness initiatives Circular economy and sustainable community projects 🩷 Subscribe + Join the LOVE Tribe Subscribe to 11x LOVE Notes — New episodes and sticky notes for your soul 🔥 Ready to Transform Your Life? Welcome to the show. I have somebody with me here who is changing the world with crowdfunding and Bitcoin. He's somebody I've been following; I set up a tiny crowdfunding campaign myself, but I've been watching how he's changing lives, communities, and the world with this project. This is Metamick, co-founder of Geyser. Welcome, Metamick. Metamick: Thank you so much, DJ Valerie. I'm honored. I feel a little intimidated by that big title, but I am honored by the work we're doing at Geyser. We provide a platform where people can change the world. We are helping those who are helping change the world, and it's a proud experience. I'm excited to talk to you today about the projects and the platform. DJ Valerie: How did you get into Bitcoin, and how did you decide there was a gap in the market to create a marketplace—like a Patreon for Bitcoin—for people to do crowdfunding? Metamick: I came at Geyser from several perspectives. First, I thought Lightning is going to be the main tool to scale Bitcoin to the world. As a Bitcoiner, I was playing with the Lightning Network and thought, "This is the layer on which most people will interact on Bitcoin because Lightning scales and Bitcoin on-chain doesn't." At the same time, I was working in the Ethereum space. Believe it or not, I was a Bitcoiner acting like a fish out of water there. As much as I saw coin issuance that I wasn't happy about, I also noticed how much development and creative energy was being put into crowdfunding platforms built there. I thought, "My god, how is there not something like this on Bitcoin and on Lightning?" I'm not a creator myself, but I'm a supporter. I love to give back because I feel blessed and empowered by Bitcoin. I started noticing Bitcoiners around the world raising funds for films, circular economies, and educational initiatives. People were just scanning QR codes in Twitter threads, and there was no way to see a project's development or progress. I wanted a platform to enable these projects to come alive, enable transactions, and let contributors feel like members of the project. The big realization came when we saw that GoFundMe, Kickstarter, and Patreon only work in a few countries. GoFundMe works in less than 20 countries. To me, as a Bitcoiner, it made so much sense. It was so obvious that I wondered, "How has nobody built this?" We launched in January 2022 with a pilot project from a guy named Apata Johnson in Nigeria who wanted to do a Bitcoin workshop. We helped him raise $2,000 in just a few weeks. That was the beginning. Now, in 2025, we've contributed over 1.5 million dollars—around 42 to 43 Bitcoins—peer-to-peer between contributors and receivers around the world. DJ Valerie: Congratulations, this is amazing. You're first to market in this space. When you're fundraising—whether for a business, film, music, or nonprofit—it's hard to get reach. A lot of people just put a QR code on their website, but it's difficult for the user to go find that website and do the due diligence. The fact that you aggregate everything in one site makes it much more user-friendly for donors. It creates more stickiness. You might go to donate to an educational project but then discover a song or a documentary. What's been your biggest success story that has just moonshotted on Geyser? Metamick: We pride ourselves on being user-centric. The heroes are the Bitcoiners launching their projects and the contributors making it a reality. In terms of success stories, the first round of projects that launched in 2022-2023 were significant. Many won Geyser Grants. For example, Mi Primer Bitcoin launched on Geyser; they were super small back then, doing a few courses, and now they are a staple. Another great one is BTC Trading Cards by Aladdin. He launched on Geyser. He's an incredible human being. The boxes you could buy on Geyser for $500 back then, the Series One boxes now go for around $30,000 or $40,000. He took a scarce resource—trading cards—and got the whole community of creatives to participate. Just this week, we had a project from the University of Sophia in Japan. These students are doing Bitcoin education and traveling to El Salvador. They raised over $30,000 in just a week from the momentum of people seeing the project's importance. Geyser is essentially a compression of force made possible by the community to make these ideas come to life. DJ Valerie: That social proof is so important. Trust and social proof are the biggest drivers of buyer decisions. However, I'm experiencing something right now where an organization is asking for support. How do you vet projects to make sure it isn't a scam? Metamick: That’s a fundamental question regarding crowdfunding and the social web. We look at three key variables: Trust and Reputation: Does the individual have a reputation? Proof of Work: How much work are they actually doing towards the project? Vision and Impact: Is the idea good? If you lack trust, you are only left with proof of work and vision. If you have reputation and vision but no proof of work, people will ask, "Why should I invest if you aren't investing your energy?" We have a set of rules: No altcoins, no NFTs, no yield scams, and we follow sanction regulations. We don't host projects in conflict zones because we cannot verify where the funds are going. We also require creators to connect their social profiles to verify they are real. DJ Valerie: In this day and age of bots, that’s crucial. When dealing with projects thousands of miles away, I can't always do a site visit. I want to support the future, but I don't want to blow my Bitcoin on the wrong spot. Do you do follow-ups or "before and after" stories? Everyone loves a makeover story. Metamick: We are working on reporting to clarify impact. We encourage creators to post updates—send messages, share impact posts. Those posts go directly to the email of all the funders. There is no better storyteller than the project creator themselves. DJ Valerie: I’m consulting for an orphanage in El Salvador, the House of Life. They told me, "We don't want to bother people with emails." I told them, "You're not bothering anybody." If you only throw the line in the water once a month, you lose the opportunity to engage. People want to hear the stories—the wins, like a baby being born, and the losses, like a storm flooding the facility. Consistency helps projects succeed. Metamick: Spot on. We plan to do more to educate creators to share updates, show the product, and celebrate every win. DJ Valerie: I wanted to show your website. For example, looking at the Bitcoin Berlin project. Metamick: Yes, Berlin is a local Salvadorian town. The guy behind it discovered Bitcoin and was able to raise nearly $3,000. It was his first crowdfunding experience. With that, he brought 20 different artists to Berlin to paint murals across the entire city. If you look at the updates, you can see the transformation. We found that about 60% of donations came from within El Salvador, but 30% came from outside—Nigeria, Australia, etc. It proves the Bitcoin community exists globally. DJ Valerie: It’s great how the costs are broken down—spray paint, rollers, brushes. As donors, we fear not knowing where the money goes. Is it possible to have itemized donations? Instead of just a general fund, could someone sponsor 10 cans of paint or a month's worth of diapers for an orphanage? It gives the donor something tangible. Metamick: We have a feature called "Goals," but I agree, breaking it down like a budget is better. We are building new functionality soon—an "All or Nothing" feature similar to Kickstarter. If you don't reach the goal, the money goes back to the funders. This will empower creative projects like films or books that have high initial capital requirements. DJ Valerie: I love that idea. It gives peace of mind. Shifting gears—startups often struggle with execution. Have you considered creating an incubator or mastermind for Geyser creators? To help them with business development, marketing, and distribution? Metamick: We’ve thought about cohorts or accelerators from the beginning. We used to do bi-weekly creator calls, which were successful, but we had to prioritize other things. We are keen to start that up again. Even basic guidance on how to market a project goes a long way. DJ Valerie: We can talk about that separately; I’d love to help put together some masterminds. Now, regarding AI. Lives are getting displaced. You can plug things into ChatGPT and get a strategy, but what about the human component? What are you seeing with AI and projects? Metamick: Humans aren't going away, but certain tasks might. We see people using AI for copy and images. However, I caution people: it becomes obvious when you use ChatGPT without thinking. It degrades the platform and feels like spam. Don't replace the human context. DJ Valerie: I agree. Overusing AI can lead to "flabby brain." It diminishes critical thinking. I think about digital natives and the future of implants. How do we support creators with next-gen tools without degrading their humanity? Metamick: I’m starting to understand the limits of these LLMs. They are modeling predictive patterns; there is no emotional intelligence or logic yet. It’s a powerful tool, but it doesn't replace humanity. There is a risk of emotional manipulation—AI telling you what you want to hear to get you addicted, similar to social media dopamine hits. I worry about people becoming dependent on it for emotional connection. DJ Valerie: I saw a story about a man who preferred his relationship with his AI because it always validated him, whereas his wife held him accountable. It’s narcissistic. AI won't confront you about leaving the toilet seat up. Metamick: Exactly. DJ Valerie: Any last thoughts? Metamick: There is a lot to be built. Bitcoin is a live digital entity that empowers us, but it needs humans to do the work. As Jack Dorsey said, Bitcoin needs to become a medium of exchange. Spend Bitcoin to support the circular economy. Bitcoin is not going away, and humans are not going away. Let's build together. Let’s build AI on Bitcoin principles—open source and decentralized. DJ Valerie: I echo that completely. Geyser represents the idea that you don't have to ask for permission—you can just do things. Bitcoin fuses entrepreneurship and philanthropy. Everyone, go to geyser.fund , follow Geyser on X at @GeyserFund , and follow MetaMick at @Metamick14 . We are so early. Thank you, MetaMick. Metamick: Absolute pleasure. Thank you for supporting creators. Let's talk about that mastermind idea. DJ Valerie: Aloha everybody. Peace, love, and warm aloha.
- Top 11 Ways I Stay Joyfully Sober on Christmas
Why Christmas Is Hard (And Why You've Got This) Let's be real: the holidays can feel like a booze commercial wrapped in twinkle lights. Family stress, office parties, and the pressure of "just one glass of champagne" can be overwhelming. But here’s what I’ve learned in my 9-year sobriety journey (with two data-point detours that became my greatest teachers): Christmas sober isn't about white-knuckling through — it's about designing your day so you don't NEED to escape it. 1. Start with Your Daily LOVE Practice (Before Anything Else) Before you check your phone. Before the kids wake up. Before the chaos begins. 5 minutes minimum. Run through the 5 V's: Vibe: How am I feeling right now? Vision: What do I want today to feel like? Value: What matters most today? Villain: What's trying to pull me off course? (Name the CLADDD: Confusion, Lies, Apathy, Disconnection, Distraction, Drifting) Victory: What's one tiny win I can celebrate? "Dear God, please use me for the highest good today. FOG (Focus on God) Yeah." 2. Have Your "Magic Words" Ready When someone offers you a drink, you need a response that feels natural and shuts it down without drama: "I'm good, thanks — got my [sparkling water/mocktail/coffee]." "Not tonight, but I'd love one of those cookies!" "I'm not a drinker — but thanks." No explanations needed. No apologies. You don't owe anyone your story. 3. BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage) Never show up empty-handed — and I don't mean wine. Pack your sober survival kit: Fancy sparkling water (Topo Chico, Spindrift, etc.) Your favorite mocktail ingredients Herbal tea bags A beautiful tumbler so you always have something in your hand 4. Phone Your Sober Buddy This is why we don't transform alone. Text your sober buddy BEFORE the event: "Heading to family dinner. Pray for me. 😅" Check in during bathroom breaks if needed. Debrief after: "I did it!" Don't have a sober buddy yet? That’s what the 11x LOVE LaB is for — You’re not alone. 5. Create an Exit Strategy You are allowed to leave. Full stop. Know your out: "Kids are tired, gotta get them to bed!" "Early morning tomorrow — so grateful for this time together!" Just... leave. You don't need permission. Tip: Drive yourself so you're never stuck. 6. Eat Before You Go (And Keep Eating) Low blood sugar + stress + an empty stomach = danger zone. Eat a real meal before parties. Keep snacking. Stay nourished. Your body needs fuel to fight the lies your brain might tell you. 7. Play the Tape Forward When temptation hits, fast-forward the movie: One drink → three drinks → saying something you regret → waking up at 3 AM with a shame spiral → ruining Christmas morning with a hangover → your kids seeing you hungover AGAIN. Now play the sober tape: Sparkling water → present and laughing → peaceful drive home → waking up clear → Christmas morning MAGIC with your babies → proud of yourself. Which movie do you want to live in? 8. Move Your Body Stuck energy needs somewhere to go. Morning walk before the festivities. Dance in the kitchen while cooking. Sneak outside for fresh air and deep breaths. Do 11 jumping jacks in the bathroom (seriously, it works). The body keeps the score. Move it and you shift the energy. 9. Have a Mantra on Repeat When the villain voice starts whispering, drown it out: "I am LOVE and I am LOVED." "FOG Yeah — Focus On God." "Sobriety is my superpower." "This feeling will pass. The regret would last." "Let Go and Let God." 10. Reframe the Day Christmas isn't about surviving. It's about being present for the magic. You get to: Actually remember opening presents. Be the calm in the family chaos. Model sovereignty for your kids. Wake up December 25th/26th feeling PROUD. You're not missing out on drinking. You're opting INTO living. 11. Remember: This Is Your Divine Masterpiece Your life is the most beautiful composition you'll ever create. You're composing it one note at a time, one day at a time — with God as your Co-Producer. Today is just one note. Make it a clear one. Make it a powerful one. And if you stumble? It happens - ZERO shame. It's data, not drama. A Lesson and a Blessing. You dust off and keep going. Victory In Progress, always. You've Got This 💜 Nine years ago, I couldn't imagine a Christmas without wine. Now I can't imagine going back to the fog, the shame, the wasted mornings. Sobriety isn't about what you're giving up. It's about what you're GAINING: Presence Peace Pride Power You are LOVE and you are LOVED. Peace, LOVE, & Warm Aloha 🎄✨ And a VERY Merry Christmas! - Ending Poverty and Violence with Bitcoin: Aaron Murphy's MURPHSLIFE Dream
How MURPHSLIFE uses Bitcoin to build circular economies that end poverty and violence in El Salvador What if the best way to HODL Bitcoin is actually to spend it on building a better world? In this episode, I sit down with Aaron Murphy (MurphsLife Foundation), who traded a life of partying for a mission of ending poverty. From saving victims of violence to building self-sustaining circular economies in El Salvador, Aaron’s story is the ultimate proof of work. 🎬 Watch the Full Episode 🎧 Listen to the Podcast ✨ Key Takeaways 1. Rock bottom is where transformation begins "Once you hit rock bottom, you know, there's nowhere else to go. Sometimes you just have to laugh and be like, you know, they can't get any worse than this." - Aaron Murphy 2. One person's vision + community donations = millions in impact Aaron didn't need investors; he needed authenticity and people believing in his mission. Six million TikTok followers + genuine cause = $100K in Venmo in one month. 3. Identity death precedes rebirth Aaron shares his raw journey from "spiritual bankruptcy" as a party promoter to finding purpose in service. He explains that you often have to hit rock bottom and let your old self die before your true humanitarian self can be born. 4. The "Default Mode Network" is real Simply giving someone a house isn't enough. Trauma survivors naturally return to chaos because it feels familiar. True transformation requires healing the heart through community, love, and on-site support — not just relocation. 5. Medium of exchange matters as much as store of value Bitcoin's original purpose was peer-to-peer exchange, not just wealth hoarding. Spending your Bitcoin for good creates the adoption and circular economies the world needs. 6. Spending 10% creates more impact than holding 100% If millions of Bitcoiners spent just 10% on sustainable farms and community projects, it would create massive adoption and solve global poverty. 7. Bitcoin Mountain can be duplicated globally Aaron's model (circular economy, sustainable farms, women's shelters, jobs, Bitcoin education) can be copied in any country to lift families out of poverty and violence. Episode Overview In this heart-opening episode , I sit down with Aaron Murphy—founder of MurphsLife, humanitarian, and radical changemaker—to explore the intersection of Bitcoin, spiritual transformation, and service. Aaron shares how hitting rock bottom reshaped his life, taking him from a "party boy" identity and spiritual bankruptcy to finding profound purpose during the lockdowns in South America. We trace his path from personal chaos to global impact, exploring how he built a movement on authenticity and community belief rather than traditional investment. We dive into the operations of MurphsLife and the creation of "Casa Conejo" in El Salvador—a circular micro-economy of hotels, restaurants, and sustainable farms that funds women's shelters and restores dignity through work. Aaron unpacks the hard truths of charity: why simply "saving" people often fails if you don't heal the heart and change the environment. He also offers a fiery defense of spending Bitcoin to build parallel institutions today—arguing that we must circulate wealth now to create adoption and solve poverty, rather than waiting for a hyper-bitcoinized future that might come too late. About Aaron Murphy Aaron Murphy is the founder of MurphsLife , a humanitarian organization dedicated to ending poverty and violence in Latin America. After a personal transformation in 2020, Aaron began using social media to crowdfund life-changing gifts for families in need. Today, his mission has evolved into building sustainable ecosystems, including farms, women's shelters, and Bitcoin-powered communities in El Salvador and Ecuador. MurphsLife is a humanitarian foundation founded by Aaron Murphy. It started by sharing stories of families in need on social media (gaining over 6 million followers) and evolved into building sustainable ecosystems—farms, homes, and women's shelters—in Latin America to end cycles of poverty and violence. How is MurphsLife using Bitcoin to end poverty in El Salvador? Unlike traditional charities that just give money, MurphsLife uses Bitcoin to build circular economies. They pay workers in Bitcoin, accept donations in Bitcoin, and build infrastructure (like the "Casa Conejo" community) where money circulates locally, empowering unbanked locals with financial sovereignty. Why does Aaron Murphy argue for spending Bitcoin instead of HODLing? In this episode, Aaron argues that Bitcoin must be a Medium of Exchange , not just a Store of Value. He believes that spending Bitcoin now to build physical assets (farms, businesses, homes) creates real-world adoption and saves lives today, rather than hoarding wealth for an uncertain future. What is the "Default Mode Network" regarding poverty? Aaron explains that simply giving a homeless person a house often fails because of the "Default Mode Network"—the brain's tendency to return to familiar habits, even if they are traumatic. True rehabilitation requires healing the heart and providing a supportive community, not just changing the physical location. Where are the MurphsLife communities located? The primary operations discussed in this episode are in El Salvador (often referred to as "Bitcoin Mountain" or Casa Conejo ) and Ecuador, where they operate sustainable food farms and women's shelters. 🩷 Subscribe + Join the LOVE Tribe Subscribe to 11x LOVE Notes — New episodes and sticky notes for your soul 🔥 Ready to Transform Your Life? Happy Friday. Happy birthday to me! It's my birthday and I chose to do an extra podcast this week with somebody who I had the privilege and pleasure of talking to yesterday about how he is helping people out of violence, out of oppression, and out of hopelessness. This is Aaron Murphy, the founder of Murph's Life. Thanks, Aaron, for taking time to talk to me today. Aaron Murphy: Thank you. Thank you for inviting me and happy birthday. DJ Valerie B LOVE: Thank you. Really cool. Like you think about birthday presents, right? In the old days, you're like, "Oh my gosh, I hope I get this little thing." But for me now as an elder, my thing is I want to help other people get their things. I feel like that's something that you're aligned with. Can you help everybody understand who you are and how you got here? Obviously, as a Bitcoiner, we have a lot in common, but you have such a huge backstory of how you created Murph's Life and this beautiful dream in El Salvador to help other people get out of poverty and violence. Aaron Murphy: Basically, my name is Aaron Murphy and I'm just a regular dude. I feel like I've already lived 10 lives. I grew up in Canada, moved all over, lived in my grandma's basement, lived in a little trailer park on the outskirts of an indigenous community in northern Alberta called Horse Lake. Then we went to the States—Utah, California, Texas. Now, I've lived in about 12 Latin American countries. Right now, I'm mostly between El Salvador and Ecuador where we have three food farms. We're building a pretty large community here in El Salvador and we have six safe homes—women's shelters—in South America where we work with the police. Women come usually after attempted murder or incest within indigenous communities deep in the Amazon where there are alcohol problems. These women and children come with a lot of emotional damage and trauma. We put them into our six-month program. We have local therapists, psychiatrists, and we teach them self-love. That is the big thing. We teach them how to work at the same time—how to cook, sew, make wedding cakes. After the six-month program, we move them into a home, help them get new beds, a stove, a little business going. So far, it's 10 out of 10. It's expensive, so that's why we're now building the engine to this airplane. We're building Casa Conejo , our large community in El Salvador. We're building a whole micro-economy around tourism: hotels, restaurants, a store, a coffee shop, a bar. It's a place where people can come for tourism, knowing two things: one, there is profit share for all the workers so they have an amazing salary; and two, the money goes back into the ecosystem for us to continue our work with our shelters and food farms around the world. DJ Valerie B LOVE: Let's take a step back. Your backstory was that you were struggling with partying and drinking, and then COVID happened, and suddenly you had $200 to your name and you gave it away. How did you have this "come to Jesus" moment? Most people just try to get more for themselves. You chose to go do service. Aaron Murphy: Once you hit rock bottom, you know, there's nowhere else to go. Sometimes you just have to laugh and say, "It can't get any worse than this." That happened around 2016 or 2017. I used to throw concerts, parties, and music festivals—the "Rooftop Series" in downtown Salt Lake. Every day was a house party. My body just kind of gave out. I started getting bad anxiety. I was coming up to my 30s and had friends overdosing and dying. I thought, "Am I going to be in my 30s, 40s, 50s doing this shit?" My body hit a point where I couldn't party anymore. I think it was my soul telling me that this isn't my purpose. I went sober for a year and decided to go backpacking. I was going to go for a month, but it turned into three months. Then COVID broke out. I was stuck in a small community. There were no planes, no taxis. I was staying in a Venezuelan refugee camp—a pretty shitty apartment sharing one toilet with no seat—but I felt really good. I felt peace. I felt joy just hanging out with my new friends every night. One night, around 2 or 3 in the morning, I just had this ecstasy come into my body—this really powerful emotion, this spirit coming over me. That's when I knew everything would change. From there, the next month there was like $100,000 in our Venmo account. All the videos were going viral. DJ Valerie B LOVE: You have six million followers on TikTok. If Martin Luther King or Gandhi had six million people, imagine the impact. What would you tell people listening who want to make the world a better place? How do you get those numbers? Aaron Murphy: Anyone can get big numbers on the internet now. But one, it has to be authentic. Two, don't just follow trends. Figure out what you're truly passionate about and make content around that. But honestly, none of the views matter. What matters is raising money so I can buy more farms and plant more trees. I love getting millions of views, but ultimately, we are all just human. One day we're going to die and everyone's going to forget about us. What a beautiful thing that we just return back to our spirit. DJ Valerie B LOVE: I want to ask you about step three. You get people out of abuse (step one), you stabilize them (step two), but what happens when they leave? Do you just put them out on the street? Aaron Murphy: It's a complicated subject. I've brought about seven or eight families in, and none of them stayed. They always go back to what they knew. They go back to their environment. It's called the Default Mode Network (DMN) . It doesn't matter if you are in El Salvador or the United States; people will go to their Default Mode Network because it feels familiar. When you relocate someone to a totally different place, you remove their support system. Even women in abusive situations still have uncles, grandmas, or friends. We haven't had one success story yet by bringing people to our farm; they always end up leaving because they miss their family. So, we focus on healing the heart where the love was missing. If you can plant that seed of self-esteem inside their heart and create a support system where they are—teach them about finances, teach them how to sew, buy them a sewing machine—that is the best way to do it. DJ Valerie B LOVE: The experience of the human to feel familiar with something is underestimated. People feel freaked out when they're in new situations. Spending money without being sensitive to the environment where people flourish is just pissing money out of a bucket. Aaron Murphy: Exactly. That's why for Сasa Conejo, we are building a model. We have a piece of land, about 10 acres. We want to build duplexes or affordable housing where people can be part of a community foundation. They follow rules like using bio-digesters so we aren't destroying the earth. This is the idea of Bitcoin Mountain . It’s a model that can break through the conscious barrier so thousands of people can duplicate it. We’re building a circular economy with a grocery store, restaurant, greenhouse, and hiring 100 families. We want to build a Bitcoin educational center where everyone gets paid in sats. Aaron Murphy: This is where I clash with a lot of people. Everyone is just like, "Hold, hold, hold forever." Who gives a fuck? What if an asteroid comes? DJ Valerie B LOVE: Medium of exchange versus store of value—you need to have both. There are people saying "never sell," and I think that's ridiculous. They've never read the white paper. Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer medium of exchange. If you aren't understanding that, you're playing "crypto," not Bitcoin. Aaron Murphy: Exactly. I have a bit of Bitcoin that I won't sell for 20 years for my daughter. But I'm spending the majority of my Bitcoin to build the dream here. My main thing is teaching women how to feed their kids. If everyone spent just 10% of their Bitcoin and we created millions of acres of sustainable food farms, wouldn't that create massive adoption? That's what I am aiming for. I'm not selling 100%, but we're selling a large amount to build infrastructure. We’re training neighbors on permaculture, on how not to use Monsanto. All these Bitcoiners are bitching about how the food is unhealthy, but then they live like cheap asses because they want to hoard coins. I don't want to live like that. What's more important to me than all the Bitcoin in my wallet is being able to say: when shit hits the fan, when the dollar crashes, I have a place where my daughter can eat healthy food, has clean water, and we know how to take care of the earth. DJ Valerie B LOVE: Spending replaces . Every time you use the Swift network, you're voting for violence. Every time you use Lightning or Bitcoin, you're voting for decentralization and peace. Aaron Murphy: My friend Johnny D died a few weeks ago. He was the "richest" of us in terms of holding, but he never spent it. He didn't do anything with it for humanity. We don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. That is the importance of not storing up so much earthly wealth but storing up treasures in heaven—which is inside. DJ Valerie B LOVE: That is powerful. Aaron, thank you for the work you are doing. Everyone, you can find him at murphslifefoundation.com . What is the number one thing you need right now? Aaron Murphy: Just donations to keep building. More farms. DJ Valerie B LOVE: You heard it here. Peace, love, and warm aloha. Thanks again, Aaron. Aaron Murphy: Thank you. Aloha.
- 3 MAGIC WORDS
During meditation and prayer this morning 3 magic words came through from God. LOVE THEM ANYWAY Thanks God - Easier said than done but yes - I will do my best when: Someone lies to me: LOVE THEM ANYWAY Someone rejects me: LOVE THEM ANYWAY Someone avoids me: LOVE THEM ANYWAY Someone uses me: LOVE THEM ANYWAY Someone manipulates me: LOVE THEM ANYWAY Someone lies to others: LOVE THEM ANYWAY Someone hurts me or others: LOVE THEM ANYWAY How can these 3 words help you on your journey today? It doesn't mean - let people keep hurting, using or abusing you. It means be FREE from anger, hurt, and resentment which are poisons for your soul. LOVE THEM ANYWAY Happy Thankful Thursday. God Bless.
- Force vs Seduction:
How to Improve Your Life Using Sensuality LOVE Snuggle Embracing the sensuality of each blessed moment rather than forcing results. Listening to pure silence. 3 tiny birds on the pine tree outside the window near my meditation cushion. Basking in the sunshine, breathing cool air slowly in my beautiful lungs. January is a tough month for many of us in the Northern Hemisphere. Holiday hangovers. Less sunlight and daytime hours. Halfway attempting to do some New Year’s resolutions. Wishing we could just stay under the cozy covers and hibernate for a month. As I look back at many of my writings I notice a pattern and as I mature I realize it is best for me not to try to force what society or my mind thinks I “should” be doing during the winter months. It leads to an uncomfortable state of resistance, guilt, and shame and who wants that? I got sick after New Year’s, forced myself to do some interviews, a fabulous 5 hour 11x LOVE workshop that I created, a 3 hour DJ set, and a women’s meetup in addition to my daily work of setting up 11x LOVE. Now I got sick again. Slow down baby, it’s all going to be ok and not only ok - God has got your back because God is Your Supply! My motto and mission is to “ Raise Your Vibe + Rock Your Mission” Well, my vibe is chill and I can rock my mission in my PJs until further notice. Exhaling fear, uncertainty and doubt. Wrapping my heart on gratitude for color, nature, sky, and Earth. Grateful my hands, eyes, voice, heart, legs, nerves, organs are rocking their functions. Trusting God that who, what, and where are meant for me will and already are for me. No need to worry my pretty little head. Remembering it’s all just Earth School and it is one big game of life like Florence Shinn says. Letting go of old stories that haunt me and hold me hostage to my dreams. Feeling the wish fulfilled as Neville Goddard likes to remind us. What is your wish fulfilled? What does it feel, taste, smell, look, sound like? How can you use your sensuality to encourage behavior shifts rather than forcing it? Which is more appealing? Force or Sensuality? The choice is yours. Wishing you a magical day as you inhale LOVE and exhale PEACE. Blessings and Warm Aloha DJ Valerie B LOVE - The Vibe Goddess 💜
- LOVE, Lessons and Blessings 2024
Flaming Swords Cut Toxic Cords Well that one was a f^cking Doozy Mc Doozerson How about you? Aloha Beautiful Bitcoiner, Burner, Believer, Badass Family! 🌈 First of all I want to say thank you, I LOVE you and am so proud of ALL of us. I want you each to know that I see you and all the work you are doing to make yourselves and the world a WAY better place. 🙏 Last year was a smack down get up smack down- halfway get up and smack down again year. Never Give Up! Buckle up for another one. (But NOW you have gone through some fortification so you will be prepared) HEALING ❤️🩹 I want to acknowledge all the healing work that is taking place in many forms for all of us. I know this is not easy sometimes and it takes a lot of courage to do inner work, healing and personal growth. It is a lifelong adventure with ups and downs like surfing Jaws on the North Shore of Maui but worth it to heal, love and grow into who God (Spirit, Universe, Source, etc) wants us to be - which are happy, healthy, loving humans. I pray that this work heals generational trauma so we, our children and grandchildren etc are free from the past and able to live more healthy, self-regulated, and optimal lives. I want to celebrate some wins, insights, breakthroughs and more if it’s ok with you. (I know I can talk a lot but this is good stuff ;-) COMMITMENT + INSIGHTS 💡 I am grateful for all of my teachers, mentors, guides, coaches, groups, therapists, family, friends, apps, books, videos, podcasts, dogs, flowers, oceans, Mother Nature and GOD (aka Universe, Great Spirit, Source, Creator, Jesus, etc) for loving me and teaching me different perspectives now and over the past 35 years and tools to be the best version of myself- a lifelong work in progress. 💜I have been on this growth path for 35 years since Ram Dass’s purple “Remember: Be Here Now” book caught my eye at a library in Tempe Arizona. Thank You Ram Dass and Maharaji But after shit hit the fan with mega midlife meltdown/divorce/near death experience 8 years ago- I spent way over $100k and 5000 hours at LEAST 25% of my time in the past 8 years (12 hours x 52 weeks x 8 years = 90+ minutes a day of meditation, yoga, journaling, praying, chanting, breathwork etc + TONS of therapy (DBT/CBT/EMDR/Breathwork/Somatic Therapy/hypno/family), podcasts, books, 30 day rehab, 2 month covid reset in Sayulita, retreats, business coaching, life coaching, workshops, (Ibogaine/DMT/psilocybin/MDMA psychedelic therapy) of my life energy on healing and transformation I have come to the following conclusions 💜: We are all doing our BEST with what we have My family, loved ones, and 99.69% of humans are REALLY good and loving people I am a really good LOVING person too I have remnants of old patterns that still need love, compassion and self-reprogramming and am working on it daily (replacing FEAR with FAITH is the biggest one- and each day I get way better because of my improved self-talk and conversations with God thanks to Florence Scovel Shinn and Neville Goddard) All humans have old patterns that still need love, compassion, and self-reprogramming. The only way to see my blind spots is when loved ones tell me how I impact them (so thank you and please keep sharing so I can adjust my behavior yet still stay in alignment with my truth) My behaviors are awesome, flawed, and everywhere in between as a Mom, co-parent, lover, entrepreneur, podcaster, coach, mentor, friend, and human My behaviors have been LOVING and caring for those I LOVE including myself My behaviors have hurt those I love including myself I have forgiven myself for hurting others and hurting myself I have forgiven those who hurt me because freedom from resentment = PEACE Realization that I need to listen more, get more curious and ask more questions and not act out of fear or judgement about religion, politics, etc. Realization that I was living out of integrity and alignment with my 11x LOVE Code and it caused massive blockages in my love, faith, family, energy, business and forward motion. Once I made changes and let go of a misaligned relationship and started to surrender control to God instead of me, after the initial sadness and loss (rejection is God’s redirection) , I knew it was for the highest good and everything started feeling better and falling into place. Realizing that once I let go of trying to control the situation with a loved one and let go of fear, uncertainty, and perceived rejection then turned it ALL over to God, my whole nervous system relaxed into Divine LOVE and faith. Realized after listening to the podcast that my co-parent sent (the gaming addiction psychologist), I agree with him and talk therapy makes things worse for me personally if it is not weighted way more heavily on spiritual coaching and skill building. Hypno - self and/or with practitioner, for building and envisioning future power as well as specific past healing is good- not just talking- it is more like complaining and makes my energy feel yucky. Realized after listening to “The Courage to Be Disliked” that all problems are relational problems (relationship to self, others, God, and situations) and that we have the power to shift instantly if we choose to. ( Sometimes I would get stuck in the past pain loops and replay trauma loops in my mind - forgetting I can change the channel and stay changed) I look at people’s hearts and intentions and realize most every human is loving Connection is better than disconnection Repair after rupture is ultra important to me yet I have to be patient sometimes It is never about taking sides - it is always about LOVE. My words are my wands (or weapons) and I must practice top-notch positive self-talk all day everyday(Florence Shinn - Neville Goddard) The stories we tell ourselves are true in our mind’s eye, and our nervous and energy systems so clarity and self-talk matter I am never alone because God is always in, with, and around me. The world is a matrix, lattice, hologram, quantum field -and I have supreme agency in shaping it into a nightmare or masterpiece. I am strong, resilient, healthy and abundant because God is my Supply My connection with God is my ultimate medicine that heals every part of my life LETTING GO of old limiting beliefs, shame, FEAR and self-judgement is awesome. I am a beloved child of God. (not a label, not too much, not too little, just right ;-) GOD rocks and saves, protects, and nourishes my life and YOURS every single day - THANK YOU GOD! I will continue to grow, shine, and make mistakes every day and I will be in the ring ;-) even with discomfort because that is where the work and growth is done. Now I am focusing on staying even more connected each moment to God and keeping my mind, body, and soul ultra-positive, high-vibes and forward focused on my mission which is to B LOVE every day and use my God-given talents and skills to build 11x LOVE, write my books, rock my podcast, speak and DJ at special events, and build the 1111 PEACE Park Project before I die (not for many more decades). BREAKTHROUGHS ✅ So I want to share a little celebration of breakthroughs and progress this year ( I will share more specifics in 11x LOVE LaB “LaB = Lessons and Blessings”) . Great progress working the trauma peaks and “Doors” doing hypnotherapy💜 Healing Mommy guilt and shame Healing 2 breakups Healing 4 different sexual abuse experiences at 4,10, 14, 28 Healing suicide attempts at 14 and 46 Healing big relapse 5 years ago and shame Healing Internal Family Systems parts and the overprotector and rebel Val Healing remnant divorce issues Healing shame and neglect from Mom and Dad Healing energy pyramid work with “mind mosquitoes” and anxiety (very cool technique) Some “doors” had to be visited a couple of times but they are clear now. Yay. Some were handled with Ibogaine 5 years ago and needed a tune up. Healing Tunnels I did 4 psilocybin journeys (it’s legal in CO- 2 with a little extra something which I will not say here ) and 1 other entheogen micro-journey, 3 were good 2 were ultra dark. Cleared some demons for sure. Big time. Once the repairs are done and the furniture is moved like my hypno practitioner says - now is time to enjoy the new furniture arrangement of freedom from old wounds and do building and maintenance. Just like with a physical injury or car damage, the goal is to get in, do deep repair work on it, then get back to driving, building the future, and moving forward. Staying in rehab, physical therapy or the body shop is not the goal. Same for trauma work. I know trauma can come in waves over time with certain triggers however I feel complete in the door work and going backward at least for now. I am moving forward with God by my side. What has truly truly truly helped seal the deal in my healing this year is deepening my spiritual practice and reframing my self-talk and all day dialogue with God which I’ll explain a little later below. ADJUSTMENTS to BIG CHANGES ☮️ My kiddos growing up into young adults, partial empty nest, and healing old family trauma. As a Mom (and Dad), every time our babies go through a new developmental milestone, I too must grow and change as a new Mother (Father), and each child is unique so there is no playbook on how to parent “correctly”. It is 1 big petri dish experiment! 😂 Mom got diagnosed with lung cancer and by the grace of God it has not progressed - YAY! Sister-in-Law also had to deal with new cancer but is all clear - YAY! The family lost my ex-brother-in-law - RIP God is My Supply BIG SURPRISE BLESSING 🙏🔥🩷 Got my ass kicked (in a good way) with trauma work with myself and a family member which will be a work in progress. In addition, I got my ass kicked even more being exposed to all the toxic energy around the elections everywhere , and as a highly sensitive person, I didn’t practice enough daily energy hygiene and got velcro’d into the icky collective vibes of fear, anger, and frustration. So, as a blessing in disguise I was forced to deal with and heal my own shame, rejection, sexual trauma and abandonment wounds. My dear friend Andres from Colombia who I told what was happening with one relationship in particular, and he said “Val, I went through a difficult time similar to this - now everything is better than ever” Yay. That gave me some comfort. The next thing he said was to read or listen to “The Game of Life” by Florence Scovel-Shinn. MASSIVE gamechanger breakthrough. It is a book written in 1925 and quotes the Bible and talks about looking at life as a game to be played rather than a war to be won and my WHOLE perspective shifted and my nervous system completely calmed down and has been ever since. Big BLESSING. Someone very special in my life became a Christian a while back and after my initial resistance because of my past trauma with religion, it prompted me to dive deeper so I could learn and connect with this person on a different level. If it weren’t for this person, I never would have got a Bible, the Bible App, and The Game of Life book would not have resonated with me because of old trauma around religion that I had and I would have rejected it if it was a year ago. (because of all the scripture references) As you may know, I meditate and pray and chant every single day and have a protective grid around me of special guides, guardians, angels, and God. Because of this healing with this special person, I now also have Jesus in the center of my grid and we work specifically on the feelings of peace, presence and patience.
